Yoga Bio
Max Kopeikin (Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor; E-RYT500, Trauma-Informed Yoga Trainer) is a yoga nerd with a true passion for the practice. He is both a lifelong student of yoga and a teacher’s teacher. He has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for over a decade. He now teaches Iyengar Yoga classes, workshops, retreats and teacher trainings all around the world. He is also a level 2 AcroYoga instructor.
Max’s classes are always alignment-centered but can range from vigorous and dynamic Iyengar practices to ones that are more gentle or restorative. He incorporates a variety of influences into his teaching style. He in now fully in the Iyengar lineage, but has had teachers from many styles, lineages and spiritual traditions: this includes his teachers include Sean Haleen, Abby Tucker, Jeremy Simon, Jill Ableson, Amanda Moran, Jason Nemer and . His current Iyengar Yoga mentor Athena Pappas (Level 3 CIYT), Brian Hogencamp (Level 3 CIYT), and Scott Hobbs (Level 3 CIYT). He has also studyied extensively in Barcelona with Iyengar Teachers - Silvia Ros, Jordi Martí and Melanie Barber.
Max currently works teaching regular classes at Lotusland Yoga SF and subs at HAUM SF. In addition to teaching regular classes at LotusLand Yoga SF, Max is on the faculty of their teacher training program. He co-created and taught in YGSF’s Trauma-Informed Yoga Training, in addition to being core faculty in their 200hr and 300hr yoga teacher training programs and teaching classes there for many years. He was also a regular teacher and teacher training assistant at Yoga Tree SF. Max began his yoga and AcroYoga teaching in Barcelona at yoga con gracia.
